use the limit rule to find the derivatives of the square root of x+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@pabloecortez07 can u solve this problem for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry, I'm a freshman taking Pre-Calculus, I still haven't learned limit rules or derivatives :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@helder_edwin can u help me with this problem

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Please state the limit definition of the derivative. Something about f(x) and h and a quotient?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

follow the definition \[\large f'(x)=\lim_{h\to0}\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} \] i just solved one problem identical to this one for u. u have to try. post your work and we'll correct u if need be.

I got it

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

cool

I am trying to find the points on the line y=x+2 that is closet to (2, 1). Do not tell me the answer, but give me a headstart on how I shout begin

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Put the line in Normal Form and you will be alomst done.
