how do i find the two additional roots of *sqrt*5 and *sqrt*7

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

what do u mean by "additional"? \(\sqrt{5}\) is THE square root of 5. how can it have an additional root?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's exactly what i'm wondering! The instructions tell me : A polynomial equation with rational coefficients has the given two roots. Find two additional roots.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

unless the problem gives u more information, i guess that u can just make it up. just pick two other numbers and say they r the roots.

kk thanks for your help though!

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

u should ask your teacher. maybe he/she omited something.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the additional roots would probably be negative*sqrt*5 and negative *sqrt*7 because there is no other root like you said. ill check with them though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

with the negative sign outside the square root
