Can someone help me with this please?! I'm in desperate need lol. I do 9th grade math and I have a picture of the problem. http://gyazo.com/8cec010708247e8fd0d1567dea94cb8d

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

f(3) basically means, "when x = 3" so what is the y value when x=3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wouldn't that be an ordered pair? Like the value of f(3) = (3,-2)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

the 3 part of f(3) is the x part of the ordered pair so f(3) = -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh ok! Thank you so much. :)

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

you're welcome :) and then.. for 5... f(x) = 3 is like "what is x when y=3"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It would stay or 3 right? Or is it 2?

jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):

look at where up/down wise is y=3 then look across to see there the graph matches with it... |dw:1387154541715:dw|
