Can someone explain to me ∼C ∪ (S ∩ ∼V)? (As in, the explanation on understanding this?) For example, I understand that ∼C is the complement of C which means everything in the universal set EXCEPT what is included in C, then we have ∪ which is the Union between ∼C and (S ∩ ∼V), so does that mean everything EXCEPT C including the intersection of S and everything EXCEPT V? Wouldn't that leave me with only things in set S? This is all without the actual diagram to undertand the actual problem '∼C ∪ (S ∩ ∼V)' itself. Thanks in advance.

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

take S intersection ~V this is everything that is in S and ~V so ~C union ( S intersect ~V) is everything in the universe that is not in C along with everything that is both in S and ~V

So within this set, would ∼C ∪ (S ∩ ∼V) be 113?
