if sin x +cos y , then x +y is ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a unit circle problem having yo do with pi/2

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Oh. Is the angle pi/2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its asking if always equal to pi/2 always equal to pi sometimes equal to pi/2 or never equal to pi/2

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Does it not say what sinx + cos y equals?

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Are x and y part of the same triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ur right equals my bad

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I can't find an example that when sinx = cosy that x + y doesn't equal pi/2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it always equals it

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

As far as I can tell.

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Can you find a counter example?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no ive been looking

Directrix (directrix):

I'm thinking this --> sometimes equal to pi/2 Let x = y = (5π)/4 sin (5π)/4 = cos (5π)/4 = -√2 / 2 but (5π)/4 + (5π)/4  ≠ π/2 @JoannaBlackwelder @cohesivesandman
