what is it..?
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
I said the last one
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yep :)
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
correct :)
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yep :)

P.S. Your profile is working again!! It just worked for me :D
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
MINE IS WORKING TOO!! YAY! :D
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
YAY!!! :D :D :D
glitches are finally being fixed xD
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
not quite...
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oops! Do you know how I would solve this?

you can try plugging in the ordered pair to each option and see which one works...
or you can see that lines parallel have equal slope
the slope of y=x is 1 <- which slope matches this one?
the slope of y=-x is negative 1
the slope of y=x+2 is 1
the slope of y=-x+2 is negative 1
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh! x+2
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Because the slope of x+2 is 1
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yep! :)
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Yay!

slope of a perpendicular line would be the flipped opposite
so 2/3 flipped is 3/2
then opposite (put a negative in front of it)
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh I forgot!
Silly me! So it's 3/2?
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
negative 3/2 :)
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh yeah!! because then it becomes negative when it flips?
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
kinda...
the slope of a perpendicular line in comparison to the original slope is just flipped and opposite... not necessarily that it becomes negative because it flipped.

not quite :)
3x + 2y - 6 = 0 in slope intercept form is y = -3/2 x +3
^^
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh yeah! Because you gotta divide the 3 by 2, to isolate the y variable?
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yep :)
and don't forget the negative from moving the x to the other side :)
... I have 2 minutes.
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh okay! I'll hurry then. One problem per minute :D
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
2x + y = 4 --> y = -2x + 4
^ so -2

Oh yikes!! I keep forgetting lol! :D
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
I don't wanna make you late
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
y does not have variable attached to it so no fractions
OpenStudy (pixiedust1):
Oh! So then its the last one
jigglypuff314 (jigglypuff314):
yep :)
