Rodney has fifty coins, including at least one quarter, that are worth $1.00. If he loses one coin, what is the probability that it was a dime? (A) 0.01 (B) 0.02 (C) 0.04 (D) 0.05 (E) 0.10 @Mertsj
That's what it says in the problem. I imitated whatever it wrote.
@satellite73
I truly have no idea :/
They say that the answer is C but I don't get it.
Oh. I reread it. They are worth 1.00 so you can figure out the composition of the 50 coins. Work on it until you figure out which 50 coins add up to $100
$1.00 not $100
That's going to take more than a while.
@hartnn
1 quarter, 2 dimes, 45 pennies, 2 nickels
Probability of losing a dime = 2/50
Can it be also possible that when you subtract 1.00-.25=.50 then you can think of about 0.5 of 1.00, which can be put as to 0.4
However 1 -.25 is NOT .50
Sorry I meant 0.75
Um..may I ask..what school do you go to?
