Help,please!!:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{180}+5\sqrt{45}+8\sqrt{80}\] How would I solve this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as in how u wan me to express this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok do it my way, can u divide 180 by 9 then by 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Assume all variables represent positive real numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rewrite the expression now after u divided 180 by 36 and 45 by 9 and 80 by 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5,6,5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u get something like this... \[\sqrt{36\times5}+5\sqrt{9\times5}+8\sqrt{16\times5}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do u see the squares? 36, 9,16?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u now solve the equation by taking out the squares and putting them outside of the root square?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[72\sqrt{5}\]

OpenStudy (nikato):

Not quite After simplifying, u should have 6 root 5 + 15 root 5 +4 root 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand
