OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

Why is the cell theory a theory and not a law? The cell theory explains the natural world. The cell theory describes the natural world. The cell theory has not been tested enough by the scientific community. The cell theory has not been accepted by the scientific community.

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

HELPPPPP!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have your answer in your question itself... read carefully and think hard

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

I dont get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u ask why is cell theory not a law! well as u said it hasn't been probed in as mush as it should be. by definition, a law, be it scientific or legal should be affirm at its place without any variation or exception, but mutation is that aspect of cell evolution that creates exceptions to cell theory..so does viruses so how can it be a law with flaws. scientific laws should be followable by nature to the word or at least fulfill 99% of its criterion. just like the Newton's or Einstein's laws of gravity and relativity resp. and something which hasn't been accepted by the scientific community cannot end up in its law book. its as simple as that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the laws should be applicable to evry living cell without any exception...which practically isn't the scenario.

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

I know what a theory and a law is I just wanted to know which one of those answers was it because none of those answers make sense to me.
