What masked the economic problems in the 1920s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, to be honest, there weren't actually that many. the 1920's is a time in America most people are proud of because there was so much growth and it seemed everyone finally had enough. enough food, water, whatever. sure, there were a FEW poor people, but not enough to truly consider it a problem. this was when the stock market was wildly popular. people were investing in things and getting money out of it, this was before the great depression. the great depression really STARTED on October 29th, 1929. this day is also known as black tuesday because the stock market crashed. it was more or less the 1800's that had economic problems and the 30's-40's that had them. thee 1800's was the gilded age, and 30's-40's was the great depression. if you want me to explain it more, feel free to tag me or respond! hope i helped! :)

but i guess to fully answer your question, the stock market and the rich people could have masked the very, VERY small economic problems there were. i guess Prohibition (the banning and outlawing) or alcohol could be considered an economic problem
