solve for x http://i.imgur.com/ASQnKRK.png x > -5 x < -5 x > 5 x < 5

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So what you want to do..is isolate the 'x' on one side...so start by adding 2 to both sides of this equation... \[\large -3x - 2 \le 13\] becomes \[\large -3x \le 15\] Now...you want to solve for 'x' not -3x ....so divide both sides of this equation by -3 **********IMPORTANT! when dividing by a negative number...you must switch the direction of the sign!******************* so \[\large -3x \le 15\] becomes \[\large x \ge -5\] And there is your answer :)
