7k^2+9k

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

What are you asked to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a factor

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

Can you see a common factor in that?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Is there a common factor between 7 and 9?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

I thought @cashaunmoney45 was asking the question. Correct, there is no common factor between 7 and 9. Is there a common factor between k^2 and k?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

No problem. I was asking the original poster since it's the poster who is asking for help.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Anyway, k^2 and k do have a factor of k in common. Since the two terms of 7k^2 + 9k only have a factor of k in common, that is all you can factor out. \(7k^2 + 9k = k(7k + 9) \) That is the full factorization of 7k^2 + 9k.
