SAS for triangle congruence means two sides and the included angle. You are given one pair of congruent sides and need another pair of sides and the angle included. Look at the attached marked-up diagram. Figure out which pair of angles you need and which "pair" of sides. If you post what you get, I'll compare answers with you, okay? @X__chelle
i got A @Directrix
Not correct. Look at the angles marked in green in the diagram I attached. Which option are they? @X__chelle And, then there is another part to the answer.
okay the angles marked in green in the diagram you attached i think is D.
@Directrix
That is correct. So, you have the sides that were given in the original diagram and now you have a pair of angles. Next up for SAS, you need another pair of sides. Look at the diagram I posted. What side is marked congruent with black tics? Note that this side is shared by both triangles. So, which option is that?
I see only one pair of sides listed among the answer options.
B ?
Yes, Option B is the pair of sides, and Option D is the pair of angles. Two answers to this question.
but i can only pick one
>>> by the SAS postulate, what additional information is necessary? Now, that is the question and the additional information is the pair of sides and pair of angles. So, I don't know what you should do. I would enter both options and see what the reply is.
>>but i can only pick one How do you know that?
because its a test and its multiple choice and says pick the best answer <-- as in only one from the choices provided above @Directrix
I can't tell you that only one of the options is required because both are. However, if I were answering under the conditions you have mentioned, I would go with the pair of angles which was option D.
its ok i answered D i got it right thanks for helping me
You are welcome.
