Answer for a Medal What is 5263 × 10^–3 ? A. 5.263 B. 52.63 C. 526.3 D. 526,300
You can't have a neg exponent.. 5263 * 1/10^3
what do you do when you see an equation like 10\[10^{-3}\]?
yeah you can you just move the decimal down that would make it 5.263
cause the decimal has to move down 3 times because its to the negative 3'd power

Shelby is correct. Exponents can be negative so long as you understand 10^-3 is actually 1/10^3. Depending on instructor, though, you may not be allowed to *leave* them negative. But in a class like Chemistry, they're actually quite common.
Yup in chemistry yes
Chemistry is fun and yeah it is very common in Chemistry but also in Algebra you will find the occasional negative exponent
