Plz help and I dont want just answers...will give medals!!! The town is organizing a Fourth of July parade. There will be two sizes of floats in the parade( 30 ft and 15 ft). A space of 10 ft will be left after each float. A. The parade must be at least 150 ft long, but less than 200 ft long. What combinations of large and small floats are possible? B. Large floats cost $600 to operate. The town has a budget of $2500 to operate the floats. How does this change your answer to part A? What combinations of large and small floats are possible?

OpenStudy (jack1):

stab in the dark here, so bear with me: A: x = large floats; y = small floats 40x + 25y = 160 to 210 combinations are: 5=x and 0=y 4=x and 0=y 4=x and 1=y 4=x and 2=y 3=x and 2=y 3=x and 3=y 2=x and 4=y 2=x and 5=y 1=x nd 5=y 1=x and 6=y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is too confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did you get 40 and 25?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell me about it Sourwing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

base on the information, all I can come up is 150 ≤ 30x + 15y + (x+y-1)(10) < 200

OpenStudy (jack1):

5=x and 0=y = 200 ft 4=x and 0=y = 160 ft 4=x and 1=y = 185 ft 4=x and 2=y = 210 ft 3=x and 2=y = 170ft 3=x and 3=y = 195ft 2=x and 4=y = 180 ft 2=x and 5=y = 205 ft 1=x nd 5=y = 165 ft 1=x and 6=y = 190 ft x = 40 because 10 ft of space between each float y = 25 ...ditto

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's is for part A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh haha i feel dumb...i missed most of my freshman year so im tryin to make up for it

OpenStudy (jack1):

same reason for 160 and 210 ft

OpenStudy (jack1):

i dont know if this line should be included as question says "less than 200 ft" and this one's exactly 200 ft 4=x and 2=y = 210 ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Honestly IDFK

OpenStudy (jack1):

lol! n e ways Part B: budget assuming small floats are free budget = $2500 = how many large floats max? 2500/600 = 4.166 so 4 max so any combination above that has more than 5 large floats (x) is out

OpenStudy (jack1):

so i guess ur final answer for B is : 4=x and 0=y 4=x and 1=y 3=x and 2=y 3=x and 3=y 2=x and 4=y 2=x and 5=y 1=x nd 5=y 1=x and 6=y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OMG ur a lifesaver!!! How do I give u a medal?

OpenStudy (jack1):

no worries hey, happy to help, good luck adriana ;)

Thank you so MUCH!!! And you too....Merry Christmas!
