HELP PLEASE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean for the fraction 4/9, 41/9 or 1/9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 1/9

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

4 1/9 ----> 4 * 9 + 1 / 9 ----> 37/9 But you flip It - Due to the fact that It Is asking for the reciprocal So - 37/9 becomes 9/37 :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is a mixed number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SO D

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

Yes! Correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES here is another one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah. Mixed numbers are gross.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your telling me :D

OpenStudy (charlotte123):

LOL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, they don't really have any semantic value. Improper fractions shouldn't be considered improper, because it's actually just division. Also, it is much more convenient in higher level mathematics, namely algebra. Mixed numbers are too modular for me.
