Help With Slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the slope of the line that passes through (-9, 5) and (6, 13)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@jigglypuff314 Help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could graph both points and use rise/run to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y2-y1 5-13=-8 X2-X1 -9-6=-15 not sure if i did the math right but if you set it up this way you will find the correct slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Loser66 ?

OpenStudy (shamil98):

\[\huge m =\frac{ y_2-y_1 }{ x_2-x_1 } ~or~\frac{ y_1-y_2 }{ x_1-x_2 }\]

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

plug in values

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13-5/6-9= Whatever you get would be slope...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep @Kristen17 is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.166666?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 8/-3?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

-2.66 rounded is -2.7

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Or -3.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, you dont solve the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8/-3=-2.7 would this work as an response?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. I believe so:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thankss
