OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the lysogenic cycle

OpenStudy (rina.r):

something that has to do with virusessomething that has to do with virusescorrect : it is the cycle where a virus lays dormant inside the host cell until it is triggered to become active and then go into the lytic cycle. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_lysogenic_cycle?#slide=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Rina.r Are you sure?

OpenStudy (rina.r):

wht u mean i am sure or not???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this may help you http://biology.kenyon.edu/HHMI/Biol113/2virus.htm

OpenStudy (rina.r):

why are u picking on me??

OpenStudy (rina.r):

its totally up to that person who have posted the question to decide wht is right and wrong not u @InYourHead

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it's different when you're feeding people wrong answers. In this case though, it's right.

OpenStudy (rina.r):

if this info... is useful and answer his /her question and i think they are capable of choosing the right answer @InYourHead and prove do u have that this answer is right or wrong. I know this question is open to everyone so anyone can answer through the source or knowledge they have not judge ppl instead of giving ur answer..

OpenStudy (rina.r):

* wht prove

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm seriously just messing with you. And there's no need for me to prove anything. Your answer was, more or less, right.

OpenStudy (rina.r):

so as me i have no time to fight with and i think their are more important thing to do then fighting with u.......

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There **

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

OMG everyone is just linking wikianswers.... this is terrible

OpenStudy (abb0t):

The herpes virus is a great example of the lytic and lysogenic cycle. But, her explanation is weak.

OpenStudy (gtxmuqsit):

@yuyiliang see pic

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

I wonder how the X-Men got their power

OpenStudy (gtxmuqsit):

OpenStudy (gtxmuqsit):

@yuyiliang

OpenStudy (isaiah.feynman):

@nincompoop they are mutants.

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Welcome to OpenStudy @yuyiliang. The information everyone provided is well. Please everyone keep OS a friendly place.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

mutations do exist (I doubt anyone would disagree), and the hijacking of the DNA by the virus can be a mechanism to bring about mutation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and adding to @beccaboo333 comment, maybe staying on topic. if you want to not talk about the question there is a messaging system here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysogenic_cycle the lysogenic cycle, is one of two methods of viral reproduction. Lysogeny is characterized by integration of the bacteriophage nucleic acid into the host bacterium's genome or formation of a circular replicon in the bacterium's cytoplasm.
