Which values for x and y make the statement (x + 3)(y – 2) = 0 true? x = -3; y = 2 x = -3; y = -2 x = 3; y = 2 x = 3; y = -2

OpenStudy (shamil98):

(x+3)(y-2) = 0 x = -3 , y = 2. forgot that one rule/formula..

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Whatever makers either (x+3) or (y-2) equal zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = -3 , y = 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because if you plug it into the equation, you will get 0.

OpenStudy (shamil98):

Oh yeah, The Zero Factor Property

Thanks @shamil98 @wangkan07 @SolomonZelman :)
