A particle is observed from two frame s1 and s2. The frame s2 moves with respect to s1 with an acceleration a. Let F1 and F2 be the pseudo forces on the particle when seen from s1 and s2 respectively. Which of the following are not possible?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) \[F1 = 0, F2\neq 0\] b)\[F1\neq 0, F2= 0\] c)\[F1\neq 0, F2\neq 0\] d)\[F1=0, F2=0\]

OpenStudy (chenping):

Is this Gallilean transformation or relativity? Well, acceleration means no zero net force right? Since it's not mentioned, I assumed s1 as the frame of which u r on the particle while s2 as the frame from outsider's view. and it accelerated relatively to s1. Imagine if u r in inertial frame s1 which is f1=0, can f2 = 0 too? No, becuz it is accelerating relative to you. So I think the ans is (d). Please correct me if im wrong.. =D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

F2 = F1- m a (m = particle mass and Forces are assumed to be in the direction of acceleration of S2) Since \[a \neq 0\] Therefore, option (d) is correct
