8t2+10t-1=0
Isn't this a repost of your question 8t2 = 1 – 10t ??
@Xeph this now means that he doesn't know how to do quadratic equations
@danijava which grade are you in? this question should not appear... this question just would not appear in the exam, so you can skip it :) P.S. the solutions are \(\dfrac18(-5\pm\sqrt{33})\)
@Xeph actually i think he does know how to do quadratic equations
\[t=\frac{ -5+\sqrt{33} }{ 8 }\] , \[\frac{ -5-\sqrt{33} }{ 8}\] t=0.09,-1.34
It should probably have been continued in the original post, but in this case, this doesn't look easily factorable to me. I'm assuming you are asked to solve for t. In that case, I would use the quadratic equation\[x=\frac{b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\]which should give you two answers.
(which both @kc_kennylau and @hannahmichelleee have done above.)
