If (-5,3) is on the graph of F(x), which point must be on the graph of the inverse fuction F^-1(y)? A. (3,-5) B. (-5,3) C. (5,-3) D.(-3,5)
From what we've been working on with inverse functions, you should have two ways to easily figure this one out. 1. Draw (-5,3) and remember the drawings I did with input/output for the original and inverse functions 2. Consider (-5,3) in terms of (x,y) and remember that if the original function sends x to y, the inverse sends y to x (swap the variables.)
Also, remember that question where I did the drawings; we decided that the original and inverse functions have reversed domains and ranges.
So would it be: 3,-5
Correct!
YAYYYYY THANK YOU
Np.
The correct answer is A. Because inverse functions usually have the flipped domain and rage of the original function.
