Write the equation of the line that is parallel to the line 3x - y = -3 and passes through the point (4, -2). y = -one thirdx - 6 y = -one thirdx - 14 y = 3x - 6 y = 3x - 14

@Luigi0210

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Get it in slope intercept form first, so: \[\LARGE y=3x+3\] We know the slope is 3, parallel meaning the same slope. So use the point-slope formula now: \[\LARGE y+2=3(x-4)\]

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Solve that and you're good to go.

okay thanks :)
