ok so the boy gets truned upside down by the man, the boy on the other hand didnt get worried because he knew that there was only a peice of bread in his pocket so the man didnt have no reason to take it so : A rhetorical term for an abrupt shift from a serious or noble tone to a less exalted one : the man thought that there would be money or something more so it was a peice of bread so it was a shift from a serious to a less serious one
