Does the term indivisible still describe the atom? Explain

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Think about it. Are there anything smaller than atoms that maybe make up the atoms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk science isn't really my best subject please help me

Thank you

OpenStudy (abb0t):

atoms are not invisible. they are just too small to be seen by the naked eye.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

indivisible - unable to be divided or separated. Nuclear reactors uses fission or the splitting of atoms to produce energy. So the term indivisible does not apply.

i think they say indivisible... as in you cant make it any smaller.. Idk if your teacher was serious when they asked u this.. cuz this topic is very debatable.. yes and i must second coolsday's comment. Physicist are coming up with new sub particles that make up the atom.. So in essence atom can be divided.
