Add the following polynomials -4.1x^2+0.9x-9.8/1.7x^2-2.4x-1.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you need to combine like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you add -4.1x^2 and 1.7x^2 which is -2.4x^2 then you add 0.9x and -2.4x which is -1.5x then you add -9.8 and -1.6 which is -11.4 and the answer is -2.4x^2-1.5x-11.4 Do you understand all of that? If not just tell me and I'll explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And always make sure you have your exponents in order from largest to smallest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about this one? Add the following polynomials

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you trying to do with those. Are there three polynomials that you are trying to add?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay hold on let me write it down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well first you look at all of the exponents just like we did before you add 2x^3 and x^3 and 3x^3 which is 6x^3 then add -4x^2 and 6x^2 and 2x^2 which is 4x^2 then add 6x and 8x and -4x which is 10x then add -3 and 12 and -7 which is 2 and the answer is 6x^3+4x^2+10x^2 Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I messed up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is 6x^3+4x^2+10x+2
