f(x)-g(x)=-2x+4-(-6x+7)=-2x+4+6x-7=4x-3

what about this one

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

f(x)=2x-4 and g(x)=-6x-7 f(x)-g(x) = -2x-4 - (-6x-7) =4x+3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok so what about the second I have

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

f(x) = 3x-7 and g(x) = -2x-6 f o g means you put g into f. f(x) = 3(g(x))-7 f(x) = 3(-2x-6)-7

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

just multiply through the last step and that one is done. When you see one of those, read it like f(x) of g(x) meaning put g(x) into f(x) as we did above.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you

OpenStudy (lasttccasey):

You're welcome.
