Short Question.. Giving medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Heather's family bought tickets at a local carnival. Her brother took one-fifth the number of tickets that her cousin took, which was half the number Heather took. If her brother took ten tickets, how many tickets did Heather take? An explanation would help too!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B = 10, C = 5B = 50 = 0.5 H. H = ? Just a set of ratios, with one given so the others easily obtained.

Um..... Hmmm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still need a bit of help understanding this... :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But thank you for that example! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B=10 given B is 1/5 of cousin's, B = C/5, so C = 5B = 50 C is half of Heather, C = H/2, so H = 2C= 2*50 = 100

Omg thanks!! This helps loads!! Now I get how to solve stuff like this! :) Enjoy your medal!
