\[\frac{ a ^{2}+7a-8 }{ 12 } \div a+8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Indivicivet help please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Look back to my other answer. Hint: Note also what happened with the term on the right.

I can't get it :(

@ikram002p

Hint: \[\frac{a^2+7a-8}{12(a+8)} = \frac{(a+b)(a+8)}{12(a+8)}\] Does this work? For what value of b? Finally, what does it simplify to? You may want to try expanding it again and comparing it to the constants on the left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ a+b }{ 12 }\] is this correct @Indivicivet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That will be the correct form of the answer. Now you need to work out the value of b.
