what is the simplified form of 4z^2-16z+15/2z^2-11z+15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\dfrac{4z^2-16z+15}{2z^2-11z+15}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you learnt factorization yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i was thinking it was 2z+3/z+3 @AnImEfReaK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think you could draw it for me? How you factorized it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it wont let me draw. i think my computers to slow @AnImEfReaK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your answer is nearly correct, your signs are just wrong. Try it again on paper if you have.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember a negative multiplied by a negative is a positive.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2z+5)(2z+3) /(2z+5)(z+3) this is what you got...when you factor it doesn't work 4z^2+ 16z + 15 you should have -16z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To get that +15s you need two negatives, as @DSS said.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Same with the denominator...you have 2z^2 + 11z + 15 it's -11z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would really be 2z-3/z-3? @DSS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes
