I need some ideas on what to do for a science fair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do the VOLCANO! It's a classic science fair thing ;D

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

bake a Potato by useing another potato.

OpenStudy (zale101):

I remember doing Acid and Base Indicator in 8th grade and won first place ;)

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Make rats fight to the death to demonstrate social aggression.

OpenStudy (zale101):

lol compass

OpenStudy (abb0t):

bread molding.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this the 6th grade science fair or 8th grade science fair? For my 6th grade science fair, I did experiments on whether different colored light outputted different energy levels. (Green had the highest output, at least for my testing it did...) For my 8th grade science fair, I tested whether extra virgin olive oil has any benefits to cooking that regular olive oil. (Extra virgin olive oil, has a higher burn temperature as well as provides more flavor, do to the smoke, when warming it past it's burn temperature). I didn't win a medal, or anything.... Best of luck.

OpenStudy (goformit100):

Make a thermo cake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Charge your phone with a watermelon :p Check Youtube

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is for 6th grade. compassionate i would do that but there not letting harm animals =P I would so want to do the volcano but they don't allow that either. Man school these day aren't like they used to be. Whats a thermo cake? sadly i don't have a phone...

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I still say bread mold. You learn a lot of things with that experiment and it is fairly easy. A bit if molecular biology and genetics, both of which are complex topics for elementary school, but can be explained by simply letting a bread mold and then placing a moldy bread with another good mold and seeing how the bacteria interacts with the other bread.

OpenStudy (221emily):

ok you have 2 eggs and one cup of salt water and the other fresh water put the eggs in not cracked and see what happens

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For my sixth grade science fair I got 4-6 different soaps and PH strips to test the acid in them to see which one damages you more and then for my eighth grade project I put water in clear plastic cups that I wrapped in different color construction paper (red, black, white, green, blue, etc) and put it outside for a few hours to see which color would make the water heat up more. There both simple projects, honestly. I won a ribbon for both, if that helps.

1. Make ferrofluid, put on a show. (it's pretty cheap) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsQh1AT6qUE 2. Prove you're jesus. get an inflatable pool and fill it cornstarch + water = run on a non-newtonian fluid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-wxnID2q4A 3. Sound plate patterns based on frequency. (you could use a plate on a speaker and run an audio program on a computer to make this cheap) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvJAgrUBF4w 4. Make an ice cube catch on fire by heating it by induction. (this one is really dangerous) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLwaPP9cxT4 5. Put on a presentation on fluorescence with some lasers and fluorophores. (might be expensive if you don't already have a bunch of lasers). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcssdJf0pKQ 6. Put on a show by setting some mercury(II)thiocyanate on fire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNHTz1j48qc

You could power a digital alarm clock with two lemons. I can't remember how but it should be online somewhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should do the Volcano it is most common

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not aloud to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhhhh try bread molding its one i did when i had a science fair you learn a helpful lot of information and it is very good to show to audiences about it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'll try
