18x + 4y = 112 can anyone help me with this problem need to find slope and the y-intercept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve y. Once you have the equation in the form y=mx+b which is called the slope-intercept form, then m = slope, and b = y-intercept. Start by subtracting the 18x from both sides of the equation. Can you subtract 18x from both sides? No. You can combine together -18x and 112 because they are not like terms. The -18x has the x in it. The 112 has no x in it. Since we can't combine together the -18x and 112, we just write them down. We only have 4y on the left side, but we need just y. Since y is being multiplied by 4, we divide both sides by 4. Now compare what we got with y = mx + b. What is m, the slope? What is b, the y-intercept?

'-' ok hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry...

OpenStudy (sheraz12345):

divide 112 on both sides

OpenStudy (sheraz12345):

then it will be convereted to two intercept form
