so you can go in any order... it'll work either way.. but usually you want to find what will give you positives since they're easier to work with than negatives...

Your points are (3,6) and (5,9). Pick one set to be 1 and one set to be 2. Just plug those into the formula @iheartfood mentioned and your slope is that answer.
