Please help! I will fan and give medals! In which case will the object move due to an unbalanced force? A.Up = 550 N Right = 200 N Down = 550 N Left = 200 N B.Up = 300 N Right = 300 N Down = 300 N Left = 250 N C.Up = 300 N Right = 400 N Down = 300 N Left = 400 N D.Up = 450 N Right = 450 N Down = 450 N Left = 450 N

@ranga Could you please help me? :)

Parth (parthkohli):

You should have posted this in physics. Well, anyway, do you know what net force is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not really could you explain it to me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@ParthKohli

Parth (parthkohli):

Oh my. Hmm, requires a while.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK well could you explain this question?

Parth (parthkohli):

For starters... let's say I push you from the left and another guy pushes you from the right, you wouldn't move. Correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um yeah I guess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you mean if both of you are pushing at the same time?

Parth (parthkohli):

You shouldn't move, because we are cancelling each other. Do you get it?

Parth (parthkohli):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that makes more sense. :)

Parth (parthkohli):

Yup, but if I start to push you harder than he does, you would start to move to the direction in which I am pushing you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly:)

Parth (parthkohli):

Yup! So now read the question. There's these weird things written like 550 N, 200 N etc.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

Parth (parthkohli):

You read them as five-fifty Newtons. A Newton is just a unit of how hard you push, just like a mile is a unit of how far you go.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it B. since right is pushing harder than the left?

Parth (parthkohli):

You got it!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wow thanks!!!

Parth (parthkohli):

Because right is pushing harder than the left, the thing would start to move.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes oh my goodness thanks again!!!:)

Parth (parthkohli):

No problem!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank the both of you i now understand this
