OpenStudy (anonymous):

which numbers are irriational/rational? 13 pie 14/20 remainder 21 remainder 1 -76.47<- with the repeating decimal line at the top of 47

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Let's remember that pie is for eating and pi is for mathematics and Greek spelling. You tell me. You tell me. Is that a Ratio of Two Integers? Makes no Sense Makes No Sense You tell me. The repeating decimal is a very good clue.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know 13 pi is irrational, and i apologize i meant square root of 21 and 1...my words are off today ol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

13/20 is rational i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the last one has to be rational

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Good start: Irrational You tell me. Is that a Ratio of Two Integers? Don't "believe". Is it or isn't it? You tell me. Is 21 a perfect square? You tell me. Is 1 a perfect square? The repeating decimal tells us that it is Rational.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay 1 is irritational 2 is irrational 3 is irrational 4 is rational 5 is rational

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for the help! :)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Excellent try. But #2 needs more thought.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

What is the DEFINITION of a Rational Number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I meant rational, sorry and a rational number is a integer/ fraction

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I got a little jumpy, too. Ratio of Two integers. 14 and 20 are integers. 14/20 is a ratio. Done. Rational. Good work.
