Authors can use setting to: Answer all of the below establish tone and mood. exploring a tunnel. add conflict I know tone and mood is correct, debating on whether adding a conflict is correct or not. If it is, then I'd have to choose all of the above. (or below)

Hmmm.... well... a conflict as in a war might be part of the setting... but I don't think that is what they mean. And cold war era as part of the setting does add the conflict between the US/USSR as a thing... but again, it really does not seem quite right. Urg. I can see why you would have some trouble with this. Can you eliminate the tunnel?
Well, if the tunnel is incorrect, then Im pretty much stuck with Tone and mood :) So it really depends on that tunnel :P

I guess they mean it literally lol, don't think it would be a setting though.
Well the setting can be as simple as a one room play set in a 1950's household or... well... the entire Star Wars Universe is a setting. So a tunnle is in there, but again I think they just tossed that in to be tricky.
