This problem is a bit abstract in that you may have to buy more boxes of candy than you actually need! what is the smallest integer multiple of 8 that, when added to 3, will be OVER 50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A^

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Let's see. You already have 3 candy bars and you buy (5)(8), or 40, more. What's 3+40? Is that over 50?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I thought about this problem and realized that you can answer it easily by solving the inequality \[3+8n \ge50\] Can you do that?

Dear BBSQ: I see you're trying to answer someone else's problem. This is all part of the game, and I often do the same, but it does tell me something about how important this particular homework problem is to you. :(
