Points of inquiry - why are the majority of kids not giving their best effort when it comes to studying, and why this behavior is buttressed under the banner of "help" and quick fix answers that detracts the true value of learning. Are we really helping them study or are we enabling bad work ethics? Is it fair to give them answers while others study arduously? And how does one figure out when somebody is gaming the system to advance himself or herself?
"...why are the majority of kids not giving their best effort...detracts the true value of learning...." I think the question is too broad (and too controversial) to be addressed here. "...Are we really helping them...while others study arduously?..." Read - http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/52dc1062e4b05a53debd1ec3 Personally, I don't think "good ethics" can be inculcated by a stern administration and/or peer pressure. "...And how does one figure out when somebody is gaming the system to advance himself or herself?..." For me, a person's "smart score" only explain how active he/she is/was on OS. Lastly, I think we can only do our bit and hope that over time OS will evolve with a better culture. :)
