Calculus 2 - Indefinite Integral

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hint : \(\large \mathbb{\int_a^b f(x) dx = \int_a^b f(z) dz }\)

OpenStudy (btaylor):

I think the answer is 8c.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BTaylor Thank you. How did you arrive at this answer?

OpenStudy (btaylor):

as @ganeshie8 showed, you have the integral in terms of f(z). Since c is a coefficient, \[\int\limits_{a}^{b}c f(z) dz = c \int\limits_{a}^{b} f(z)dz\]

OpenStudy (btaylor):

We know that the integral part will be 8, so it turns out to be 8c.
