I get so confused with these questions The following argument is valid: All turtles are green All people are green Therefore all turtles are people

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that would be a logic question it depends on what you are doing, what are you confused about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Figuring out if these are valid or invalid. Suppose to be using Euler

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Inductive and Deductive Reasoning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking this one is True it is a valid argument

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Turtles are not people. Merely: both are green.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im pretty sure this would be inductive reasoning. Deductive reasoning would be more like All men are mortal I am a man I am mortal. This is because i am a part of the group of man. Inductive is when it is not nessasarally part of the group, like your green turtlepeople

OpenStudy (anonymous):

necessarily

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can tell because it is false because turtles are not in the people group. All people are green I am a person I am green

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All A are B C is A Thus, C is B also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a syllogism, deductive. Inductive would be to examine lots of cases and conclude something about the next one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The book gave a terrible explanation. They was I understood with the circles they had as examples was they keyword "all" was a circle within a circle, which usually is valid.
