What is the percent of increase from 60 to 75?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

15 is 1/4 of 60. 1/4 in terms of percentages = ? %

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Lackofname has correctly identified the INCREASE from 60 to 75, but that 15 is not the "percentage increase." To calculate the "percentage increase," I'd prefer the simpler form\[\frac{ 15 }{ 60 }*100 percent=?\]

... which is, of course, exactly equivalent to the result you'd get by following Solomon's guidance.
