Solve the inequality 4x - 6 > 6x - 20.

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

$$ 4x - 6 > 6x - 20\\ 4x>-20+6x+6 $$ I added 6 to both sides of this inequality. I want to isolate the \(x\) variable. How can I get rid of the 4 in front of the \(x\) now?

OpenStudy (ybarrap):

Let me combine terms on the right first: $$ 4x - 6 > 6x - 20\\ 4x>-20+6x+6\\ 4x >-14+6x $$ Now I can divide by 4 to get rid of that 4 in front of the \(x\). Make sense?

no

haha but thanks
