What the point of reporting someone who gives out an answer to a math problem, without any explanations?
The point is that mods will look at the reported post, probably delete it, and warn the person who posted it.
What if many people are doing the same thing? Are mods gonna teach CoC to each one of them?
"...Don't devalue the question/answer process! Don't provide someone with just the answer - explain the process, and help guide them through understanding the problem. Don't just provide the answer to a problem when someone else is in the middle of helping! But if you want to help, by all means, join in!..."
Here at OpenStudy, we don't cheat and solicit test answers. We guide the user, so he has a learning experience. This isn't a homework cheating site like Answers.Yahoo, we're an educational union. We teach and provide coursework, but not answers.
I see the opposite though.
We're not so concerned with minor offenses here-and-there, our goal is to apprehend big distributors, such as cheat sheets and answers to entire tests. Though, small-time solicitors can still be punished based on a moderator's discretion, however, it's usually overlooked.
yeah, thank you for clarifying. I am saying this, because I reported on plain answers number of times, and nothing happened.
Warnings and suspensions are kept between a moderator and the subject in question. A moderator will never notify you of his actions, nor is he supposed to. A user's record is kept private. Odds are, something was done, however, you will not be notified of such.
^^ That's a nice policy..
