Okay, to translate ANY graph that was ever made ever (within reason :P) to the right you must directly subtract from the x term. You can do this by imagining the x with brackets around it and then putting the term in those brackets: We have y = |x| So y = |(x)| y = |(x - 2)| (we go to the right so subtract, and we want two units) y = |x-2| (if we take away the unnecessary brackets) This gets better when they get more complex: y = 2|6x + 3| -1 y = 2|6(x-2) + 3| - 1 y = 2|6x - 12 + 3| -1 y = 2|6x - 9| - 1

Oh my goodness!!!! That is a very well-written response! Let me read it over for a second.

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Wow that makes sense!! Thank you SOOOOOOOO MUCH!

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

The lightbulb has just gone off for me, THANK YOU!

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

So then without the brackets the answer is |x-2|?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, that's right

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Thank you! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's alright :)
