OpenStudy (awesome781):

6(square root)10a •3(square root)20a^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think this is what you wrote, but what is your question?

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Yes @cjr712, but the 5, I changed to 10, it was a mistake.... and I need help solving it.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Is the answer 80(square root) 5x^9?

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Oh..... that's wrong.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

When a is multiplied by a^2, is it a^3 or a^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh you changed the problem lol.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a x a^2 = a^3

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Ok..so far I got ...18(square root) 200a^3.....from there I need to simplify it.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Now when I simplified.....I got 36a(square root)25a.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

But, my teacher said when you multiply square roots u have to solve first, and then simplify.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer should be 180(a)[sqrt2a]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I will write it in my program so you can see what I mean.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Ok.... that will help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Check it out and let me know

OpenStudy (awesome781):

How come you don't simplify starting from 18(square root) 200a^3?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

6rt(5x)(3)rt(20a^2) 6rt5rtx.3rt4rt5rta^2 rewrite to group and simplify (18)(5)(2)(a)(rtx) 180artx

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Im still confused.....@kmacdaddy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well people approach the problem differently. I just did it in a way that you can see how everything is being multiplied and simplified.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Ok so if I di it my way and got 36a(square root)25a.......that is wrong?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are you confused about?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you multiply the sqrts you should have 10a*20a^2 right? which is the same thing as 2*100*a*a^2.... the 100 and the a^2 are perfect sqrts so they come outside as 10a and the 2a stays inside the sqrt.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Ok .....when I multiply 6 by 3, I get 18, which goes outside the square root, and then I multiplied the number inside the square root and I got 200a^3. Then, I cubed it, to multiply 8 times 25. Eight can come out as 2, so when multiplied by 18.....it is 36

OpenStudy (triciaal):

i was wondering why "x" in an" a" problem look back 34 mins that's what i started with

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Then, the a^3 cubed inside comes out as just a, and the remainder of it stays inside the square root. Which is then 36a(square root) 25a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problem is that you are doing the sqrt of 200 incorrectly. Everything else you are doing is fine, but the sqrt of 200 is 10[Sqrt2]

OpenStudy (awesome781):

How is 10 times 2 largest perfect cube?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not a cube root it's a square root

OpenStudy (awesome781):

But doesn't the a^3 make it a cube root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the cube root of a^3 is a but the sqrt root of a^3 is asqrta the cube root of 200 is 2cuberoot25 but the sqrt root of 200 is 10sqrt2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The a^3 doesnt make it a cube root... it is asking you to find the sqrt of a^3

OpenStudy (awesome781):

10 times 2 is 20, do you mean 100 times 2.....

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you put the 10 back in the sqrt it becomes 100 again so 100*2=200

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Oh ok I understand now......my answer is 180a(square root)2a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats the answer :)

OpenStudy (triciaal):

no 180arta not 2a

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Thank you all for the help.......even though it took a while for me to understand.😊:D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the 2 stays in the root because 200 = 100*2

OpenStudy (awesome781):

@cjr712 and @Haseeb96 is correct.

OpenStudy (triciaal):

no review my solution above the x should be an a but follow the factorization

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just saying.

OpenStudy (awesome781):

I don't know what math concept u are applying......because I am not familiar with "arta"

OpenStudy (triciaal):

you had changed the problem again ok I had 6rt5x you did 6rt10a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"arta" is a(square root)a

OpenStudy (triciaal):

thank you

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Oh ok.....lol.....never heard of that^_^

OpenStudy (awesome781):

Thanks again..........@cjr712, @triciaal, @Haseeb96 ......😊
