Part 1: What is the pH of a neutral substance? Part 2: If a substance has a pH of 2, is it acidic or basic? What is one tool that you can use to indicate whether a substance is an acid or base?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Part 1: It's 7. Anything from 7 above to 14 is considered more basic, and anything from 7 below to 0 is considered acidic. Therefore, if a substance has a pH of 2, it is acidic. I think the tool would be called a pH scale.

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a substance is. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. A pH of 7 is neutral. A pH less than 7 is acidic. A pH greater than 7 is basic.
