HELP ASAP!!! Will medal! Answer Choices are in the comments. Identify the personification in the following excerpt: ROMEO But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, Who is already sick and pale with grief, That thou her maid art far more fair than she: Be not her maid, since she is envious; Her vestal livery is but sick and green And none but fools do wear it; cast it off. It is my lady, O, it is my love! O, that she knew she were!
What light through yonder window breaks? Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon, It is my lady, O, it is my love! It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.(this is my guess)
@Darry&Gator
Well, do you know what personification is?
Yes
Is my guess correct?
Or is it B?
Well, lets look through all our options. A. What light through yonder window breaks? - I do not really understand this sentence, but we can check the other ones. B. Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon. - This is personification because the moon cannot be envious. Basically it is saying that the moon wants light like the sun has, and obviously it is "envious". So, since a moon really has no feelings, this cannot be the answer. C. It is my fair lady, O it is my love! - Well, I believe that this is not personification. I think so because there really isn't anything unhuman that has human characterisitcs in this short sentence. D. It is the east, and Juliet, is the sun. - I think this is a personification because it is saying that something is the east and Juliet is the sun. Obviosuly the sun cannot be Juliet, so this must be a personification.
Ok thank you soo much!!
