@agent0smith

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Hello my friend! Would you mind helping me out with this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm thinking B.

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

I was too, and I was told it was wrong :( So I was confuzzled.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WAIT...it's C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was looking at 2 different things, and I mixed up the questions. hehe

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Hehe Thank you! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome. :)

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Do you think you could explain to me why C would be the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure; see, on a graph, you know how the left side has negative numbers? And the right side of the graph has positive numbers?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

It's not B because to the left is +2.. this isn't like a number line. A graph will experience a vertical shift when f(x) + k = P(1 + r)x + k. A positive value for k will shift the graph up k units. A negative value for k will shift the graph down k units. _____________________________________________________________________________ A graph will experience a horizontal shift when f(x + h) = P(1 + r)^x + h. A positive value for h will shift the graph to the left h units. negative value for h will shift the graph to the right h units.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, the question says that it's 2 units left of the graph. So, left side is negative, also what tHe_FiZiCx99 said as well. :)

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

That makes sense!

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Think of it as, if its in parenthesis its horizontal

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

To the left is not negative xD ... to the right is negative

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Cool! So then its C?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Nope

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Oh yah!!! That makes sense! Thank you :)

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Can you help me with one more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So...the answer is A.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...huh...ok.

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

k

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

The range is the y

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

So that's B then, right?

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

No no, (x,y) The range is the Y, so in (-1,1) 1 is the range Btw, it MUST go from least to greatest

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

You're asked for the y (range)

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

So, y=1 y=2 y=3 y=4 y=5?

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

(x,y) (-1,1)

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Yea :P it was B, I thought it had 4 options counting the relation function >.<

OpenStudy (pixiedust1):

Thank you SO MUCH for your help! :D

OpenStudy (the_fizicx99):

Thought B was " {-1, -2, -3, -4, -5} " Yw
