Spanish help? Help me translate 5 sentences?
Imagine that you've already finished your university studies and are going to start your adult life. You need to look for a job and don't know what to do. Write 5 sentences to express your doubts, uncertainties, thoughts, fears and emotions. It uses the formula of the subjunctive to write them. Remember, if you use a verb of certainty use the indicative form.
Basically I need to write 5 sentences, but could someone give me examples of sentences I could write using subjuntive & indicative verbs? I really need help:(
"The subjunctive is not a tense; rather, it is a mood. Tense refers when an action takes place (past, present, future), while mood merely reflects how the speaker feels about the action. The subjunctive mood is rarely used in English, but it is widely used in Spanish." For most verbs, the present subjunctive is formed by following these three steps: Start with the yo form of the present indicative. Then drop the -o ending. Finally, add the following endings: -ar verbs: -e, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, en -er and -ir verbs: -a, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an So basically, to me, personally, this is like something that you used to do. For example, since this is talking about starting your adult life and getting a job, it would be a good idea, to put somewhere in this paragraph a sentence like "Yo estudie en la universidad, pero nunca me enseñaron a trabajar en un trabajo. Estoy nervioso" (I studied in the university, but they never taught me hot to work in a job. I am nervous.) Being continued...
I would actually like you to read this as I type: http://www.spanishdict.com/topics/show/68
What I would like you to do is to first write the sentences in English and then try to translate them into Spanish and turn the verbs into subjunctive and/or indicative. I am having some connection issues at the moment so I am very sorry if I do not reply right away.
@Darry&Gator what would be a really short simple sentence I could use for an example? I got a 2/10 on my quiz & i still don't understand much about indicative or subjunctive at all.. :(
& if you're worried about something that's in the future, then how are you supposed to write about it in past tense?
Okay. Let me try. I do understand, though, that indicative and subjunctives are confusing. They are confusing to me too. Let me think of the examples...
Damn it, I can't seem to really explain this. Gr! Well, not to worry, let me call some people that maybe will be able to help you further. @esshotwired @$boricua @brendalopez @lauluisa @timaashorty @elephantine Sorry I wasn't able to [fully] help. :\
I am extremely sorry about this, though. ._.
I would help, but I haven't learned this yet. ;/ But I think you're explaining it greatly @Darry&Gator.
Estoy nervioso porque nunca aprende cómo aplicar para un trabajo. what about that?
@darry&gator
That means "I am nervous because I have never learned how to apply for a job."
