Can someone check this for me please :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

There are four birds, mom and dad, son and daughter. Each bird prefers there own bowl (red, yellow, green, or blue), and there own seed (wild bird, free bird, new bird, and morning bird) Dad will only eat morning bird seed in a yellow bowl Mom must eat from a yellow bowl Son's seed package is the same color as his bowl Mom eats wild bird seed Morning bird and new bird seed are packaged in a brown bag Daughters bowl is green only if she eats morning bird seed Free bird seed is in a red package Match each bird with his/her seed and color of bowl.. this is what I got... mom -- wild bird -- yellow bowl dad -- new bird -- blue bowl daughter -- morning bird -- green bowl son -- free bird -- blue bowl

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

@eliassaab ...can you take a look at this please

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

this was my sisters homework, and we did it together. She turned it in, but the teacher said it was wrong. I do not see how it is wrong.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

The teacher gave it back to my sister and told her to try again

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

here is my reasoning... *Mom -- wild bird -- yellow (this is given) *Dad will only eat morning bird seed in a yellow bowl -- dad does not have yellow bowl, therefore, does not eat morning bird seed. *son's seed package is same color as bowl -- since morning bird and new bird are in brown packages, and their is no brown bowl, only one left is red package of free bird, so son eats free bird in red bowl. * what we have left is daughter and dad...new bird and morning bird...blue bowl and green bowl. * dad does not eat morning bird, so daughter gets morning bird, and if she gets morning bird, she gets green bowl. * leaving blue bowl and new bird for dad

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

@ganeshie8 ...I cannot find my mistake...help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on the op you didnt use the red bowl. did you turn it in that way

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oops...my bad....red bowl goes to son

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

did not turn it in that way

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

This is what was turned in.. mom -- wild bird -- yellow bowl dad -- new bird -- blue bowl son -- free bird -- red bowl daughter -- morning bird -- green bowl

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I just can't find what is wrong with the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's exactly what i just got. hmmmm

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

it is not that hard....but I must be missing something...or the teacher is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, there must be more than one interpretation. and the teachers interpretation is a "trick" question, or so to speak.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I guess...I am just gonna tell her to show the teacher the reasoning....she just turned in the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As long as the reasoning is legit the teacher, if a math teacher, should respect that. Just because something needs proved, doesn't mean there is only one set of steps to get there. We could be wrong entirely, but i don't think so.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

thank you lonnie......thanks for taking the time to look at it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem, good luck
